Religious Education and Formation 2017/2018

Thank you for another successful year of Religious Education Formation for our children. We couldn’t have accomplished so much without your help. We are now in the process of planning for next year. Please read this letter carefully as it pertains to registration for the fall.
Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 6:15 p.m.– 7:30 p.m.
The first class for ALL grades will be on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 6:15 PM. The evening will begin with a Family Mass in the church. Families will be asked to sit together for the Mass. Those children who registered prior to August 23, 2017 will attend class after Mass until 7:30 P.M. Families will need to go to the registration table in the church vestibule by 7:20 P.M. to check in and get the children’s name tags for class. No child without a name tag will be allowed in the classroom the first evening.
There will be a required parent meeting on Wednesday, September 13th for parents in the school lunchroom for children enrolled in grades 7 and 8 at 6:15 PM. There will be a required parent meeting on Wednesday, September 20th for parents in the church for children enrolled in grades 1 through 6 at 6:15 PM. Attendance will be taken.
We are Now Accepting Registrations for the 2017/2018 year.
You may register at the rectory Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
All new registrations must provide a baptismal certificate if your child was baptized at a Parish other than St. Jane’s.
The Archdiocese of Chicago requires that all children enrolled in the sacrament preparation program have no more than two (2) absences per year. This pertains specifically to 1st, 2nd, 7th and 8th grades. 1st and 2nd grade students are expected to meet this requirement in order to make their First Reconciliation and/or their First Holy Communion. 7th and 8th grade students are expected to meet this requirement in order to prepare for and/or make their Confirmation. They will not receive credit for the year if their absences exceed that amount.
The book fee is included in the tuition. Your child will receive a rosary as well. The child will keep both of them at the end of the year. It is the child’s responsibility to bring them both weekly to class. The parent(s) must pay for any lost books.
WHEN REGISTERING EACH FAMILY MUST PAY THE TOTAL AMOUNT DUE FOR ONE CHILD. Those with two or more children and/or a tutoring fee have a second payment date of Wednesday, October 11th to pay their balance. A late fee of $20.00 will be accessed on Thursday, November 8th at 3:00 p.m. Any family who is suffering economic hardship must contact Father Cronin PRIOR to the registration due date Thursday, August 23th at 3:00p.m. at 708-805-2829
St. Jane parishioners must be actively attending and financially supporting our parish in order to receive the parishioner tuition rate. Otherwise, they will be changed to the non-parishioner status.
ALL REGISTRATIONS MUST BE ACCOMPANITED WITH A TUITUION PAYMENT.
Tuition for REGISTERED PARISHIONERS who contribute to the parish through the SUNDAY OFFERING
One child $180.00
Two children $255.00
Three or more $290.00
Tuition for NON-SUPPORTING or UNREGISTERED families
One child $220.00
Two children $315.00
Three or more $350.00
ALL CHILDREN WHO DID NOT ATTEND THE 2016-2017 RELIGIOUS EDUCATION AND FORMATION PROGRAM MUST HAVE A BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE WHEN REGISTERING. CHILDREN REGISTERING FOR THE FIRST TIME IN GRADES 3-8 MUST HAVE INFORMATION ON WHERE AND WHEN THEY RECEIVED FIRST RECONCILIATION AND FIRST HOLY COMMUNION.
Tuition for tutoring is $100.00 per child. Sessions are from 5:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday night and follow the same calendar as the regular classes.
A sacramental fee for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and/or Confirmation will be collected after the first of the year. An email will be sent with more information.
FAMILIES WHO RETURN THEIR REGISTRATION FORMS WITH FULL TUITION BY JULY 1st WILL RECEIVE A $20.00 DISCOUNT.
ALL registrations received AFTER THURSDAY, AUGUST 23, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. will be assessed a $20.00 late fee. NO LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE TAKEN ON WEDNESDAY EVENINGS. You may obtain all necessary forms at the rectory Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM. – 4:00 PM. or online. Forms with tuition payments may be placed in the mail slot at the rectory or mailed to 5252 S Austin Avenue, Chicago, IL 60638.
If you know any families new to the neighborhood we would appreciate you sharing this information. Be sure to inform them that a paper copy of the child’s baptismal certificate is REQUIRED at the time or registration.
