English Adoration & Rosary

Join us on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm in the Church to pray together heart to heart.  In the presence of Christ in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar allow this time to experience the mystery of God to become tangible through the beauty of simplicity. Unite our voices in Benediction, and in the  recitation of the Most Holy Rosary we reflect upon the passion of our Lord and in the silence, we learn that the depths of our being are inhabited by His Presence. Come and see, Come and pray.

Stations of the Cross and Mass (Pol) 7:00pm

  1. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence. Abstinence is also to be observed on the Fridays of Lent.
  2. Fasting is required of all the faithful in good health from the age of 18 to the beginning of their 60th year. Abstinence binds everyone over the age of 14.
  3. Fasting usually is interpreted to mean one full meal and, if necessary, two other small meals. One should not eat between meals, but milk, fruit juices, and other liquids are permitted.
  4. Abstinence means no meat should be eaten during the entire day.
  5. Anyone unable to observe the fast or abstinence obligations because of health or other serious reasons should substitute another penance.

March 10—April 14, our parish will be participating in The Baby Bottle Project benefiting The Women’s Centers of Greater Chicagoland.  This non-profit organization directly assists mothers and families experiencing crisis pregnancies by offering emotional, financial, material, and spiritual support through counseling, clothing & monetary provisions, prayer, and other aid.  Each year the three locations together have over 5,000 appointments with expecting mothers. By God’s Grace, The Women’s Centers have saved almost 40,000 babies—and their mothers—from abortion since opening in 1984.

Please take a Baby Bottle home with you from the church and fill it with your spare change, and return it the weekend of April 13th & 14th.

This is a simple, but crucial fundraising effort for The Women’s Centers. Please note the Baby Bottles cost  almost $1.00 per bottle and are recycled afterwards so please return upon completion of the project. Thank you for helping defend life, and remember to keep all pro-life undertakings in your prayers.

Also if you are making a donation by check, please make it payable to: The Women’s Center. Thank you!

In the wake of Louisiana’s catastrophic flooding in 2016, 400 Buckets of Hope filled with emergency cleaning supplies were delivered to disaster victims. Of those 400 buckets shipped, 125 were provide from the parishioners of St. Jane de Chantal!

Buckets of Hope is a diaconal ministry of Hope’s on the Way, their mission in responding to ongoing natural disasters.   Over the past few years over 1500 Buckets of Hope cleaning supplies have been sent to North Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Texas and Puerto Rico. So now in order for Hope’s on the Way to maintain a state of  readiness when disasters strike we again humbly reach out to the people of St. Jane in a effort to support the 2019 Lenten Appeal to “FILL THE BUCKETS”.

“FILL THE BUCKETS” appeal begins on the weekends of March 9, 16, 23 & 30th.  Empty 5 gallon buckets along with an emergency cleaning supplies list will be offered to parishioners in church.  As we journey through the Lenten season we ask that you reflect and pray for all victims of natural disasters.  By weekly filling your bucket with emergency cleaning supplies from the list you keep those who have suffered greatly in your thoughts and prayers.   Once your bucket is filled with the items from the list it may be returned to church.   Deadline for returning buckets is May 5th. Deacon Ron will oversee the appeal and should you have any questions he can be reached at          1-708-227-9196

Summer is a great time to relax and reflect on what it might be that God is calling us to. Ministry is not just about doing. It is all about hearts touching hearts, hands reaching out to hands, prayers that bring hope to the hopeless. Knowing that we all have a part to play in God’s plan of Salvation in bringing about His Kingdom here on earth.

The adult community would make wonderful servers for this Mass. Please call me if interested and I will give you a quick lesson. No experience needed, just your faith and a willingness to serve the Lord.

  1. I would like to become a parishioner of St. Jane’s how do I register? Can I do it on line or do I need to come to the rectory/parish office? And where is that located.
